Getting Involved
A festival of this size always requires a lot of work, although the more people who help the less work you all have to do.
Planning
Planning is largely over for this year - individuals are looking at the fine details. However, general help is always appreciated in whatever form you can give it (see below for ideas).
The planning stage is fairly easy, largely deciding what events we would like and can manage to put on during the festival week. Every event over the last two years has been popular so the main limitation we have is organiser energy. Experience is not necessary, only enthusiasm.
What we need
We are always interested in the following:
- local organisations who would like to run a stall (closed for this year)
- sponsors!
- volunteers to help at the street party
- people to deliver leaflets (closed for this year)
- people to take photographs of the events (the more photographs the better!)
- new gardens to display at Open Gardens
- ideas for future events
In particular we are after more committee members to spread the load, especially to allow greater rotation of chairing the Festival.
A special note for the Street Party
Please could stall holders with vehicles please bring their vehicles in from the St Helena Road/North View end of Bayswater Avenue. Access will be one-way this year, leaving onto Coldharbour road, to prevent congestion. Cars should be clear by 1pm since visitors start arriving early! Thank you.
